See also our Running With Scissors pattern, which is a companion to Take A Stand. That pattern includes instructions for a handy zip-up Tool Case to store and carry a plethora of tools, from rotary cutters and scissors to markers, turning tools, small rulers, and more. A variety of easy-to-access pockets in vinyl, mesh, and quilted fabric can be customized to fit the tools you use and love.
The small Take A Stand tote make a perfect stand for the Tool Case in our Running With Scissors pattern. Just fold the Tool Case over so that the inner pockets are exposed. Place the Tool Case “billboard-style” over the upright tote. You’ll love the stability and easy access to all your supplies. The large tote will hold the Running With Scissors Tool Case and/or fabric, tools, and more.
IMPORTANT NOTE about what is included in the ByAnnie Packet/Pattern:
Concise instructions with check boxes for General Quilting, Binding, Vinyl, Mesh and Fold Over Elastic.
A list of what you will need to complete the project.
Cut out labels for you to easily identify your fabric pieces.
If applicable a code for an add on video to assist you with the more complex aspects of your bag making.
NOT INCLUDED – Pattern Pieces! you will not find any pattern pieces within the pack. Instead of pattern pieces you will be expected to cut the squares and rectangles of fabric yourself and these are then shaped as required as you follow the pattern.
The easiest and most accurate way to cut out the fabric pieces is to use a rotary cutter, cutting mat and quilting ruler. You will also need a line on your cutting mat which shows a 45 degree angle for cutting some of the bag bindings.
The pattern calls for ByAnnies Soft and Stable which is a lightweight foam which gives body to the bag. This material is available in the UK, but can be quite expensive. A good alternative to this is Vlieseline Sew In Foam which is available within this shop.
